Burgess Diagnostics, founded in 2003 and based in Preston, is the UK's only dedicated provider of mobile diagnostic imaging services to the veterinary sector. It operates a fleet of MRI and CT scanners which are transported to customer sites and operated by specially trained radiographers. 

Providing services across the UK, the business operates in the growing veterinary market and has seen annual sales, profits and margin growth over the last few years. 

The two shareholders were keen to explore the different options available to them for realising the value in their business. 

Our Corporate Finance team was appointed to advise the shareholders on the sale of their business. 

They put time and effort into understanding the business properly and worked closely with management to identify a range of potential buyers, including both trade and private equity. 

We introduced the two owners to Solingen Private Equity, who are a relatively new fund, and led the negotiations with them,  structuring a transaction which suited all parties. 

Grant Thornton set out from the start of the process to deliver the best possible outcome for the shareholders. 

We supported them to ensure that their business was presented in the best light, taking time to understand their goals and working hard to deliver a result which optimised value for all parties.
