We are delighted to have advised Brocklesby Limited on their sale to St1 Nordic Oy.

Brocklesby was a family-owned business in Hull which had grown to become one of the UK’s leading biofuel feedstock refineries; specialising in collecting used edible cooking oil and fatty food waste, and converting them into feedstock for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

The shareholders wished to realise the value they had built within the business, and engaged us to act as lead advisers on the sale of the business.

We provided a full suite of tailored sell-side advisory services, preparing all marketing materials, leading detailed negotiations, project managing diligence streams and advising on the key commercial terms of the transaction. Our extensive transaction experience meant we could provide pertinent advice at every step of the transaction.

Having understood the complex dynamics of the renewable feedstock supply chain and the growing importance of Brocklesby within this, we ran a highly competitive process across a select number of potential strategic acquirers.

Our targeted and tightly managed process increased competitive tension amongst the buyers and maximised and protected value for the shareholders.

Testimonial
Grant Thornton really took the time to understand the business, its key processes and the strategic value it offered buyers, giving us great confidence when going to market. The team provided hands on advice and support throughout the transaction and were able to unlock and protect maximum value for the business. An excellent outcome was achieved for all parties and we are very grateful.
