I lead our insurance risk assurance team. I support business leaders across all three lines of defence, but specifically around operational risk assurance.
Mostly, this involves working with second-line risk functions to conduct risk maturity assessments, enterprise-wide risk activities, and offering assurance over environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and third-party risk management frameworks. When delivering assurance framework development support, this includes internal controls, integrated assurance and continuous monitoring framework development, and insurer regulatory assessment assistance.
I've worked in the insurance industry for over 14 years, leading and managing risk and internal audit functions across general insurance firms and Lloyd’s of London managing agents. I've been both a consultant and in-house industry expert with established international insurance and reinsurance firms. And, on many occasions, I managed teams where the organisation or function was undergoing significant transformation.
Before joining the firm, I ran my own boutique consultancy offering risk and internal audit services to insurance clients. This has given me a greater understanding of the challenges business leaders face today.
In 2022, I was selected as an Insurance Business UK Elite Woman and in 2019 my consulting firm was recognised by Acquisition International as the best risk management and assurance consultancy.
Mentoring women and young professionals is something I'm passionate about. I'm a former member of both the Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network and The Women's Insurance Network (TWIN). I'm a liverywoman of the Worshipful Company of Insurers and co-chair its iEngage Committee, promoting young professionals into the insurance industry.
My three wonderful daughters – aged 20, 16 and three – take most of my time outside of work. As a family, we go away together when we can. I love to travel, socialise and meet people but also enjoy quiet time with walks in nature and meditation, and have recently joined a book club!
