Claire Martin Associate Director Glasgow +44(0)141 223 0842

I work with a range of businesses, providing support in developing and implementing a strategy when additional funding is required to capitalise on growth opportunities or where their continued outlook is uncertain.

Whilst I work across various sectors, I am a member of our UK Restructuring Energy team, actively involved in projects focusing on renewables, energy suppliers and energy transition, and unlocking what energy transition means for businesses financially and commercially.

In 2019, I was seconded for a year to the Scottish Government’s Directorate for Energy and Climate Change, working on a range of policy and commercial matters in a fascinating and developing area critical to global climate change ambitions and the UK and Scotland’s Net Zero targets for 2050 and 2045 respectively.

Working on cross-border assignments has given me valuable insights into the mindsets of businesses active internationally and has included spending time working in India and UAE. I also have significant experience acting for the public sector on business reviews, transaction support, and subsidy control considerations in the context of proposed financial support and contingency planning.

I enjoy working with management teams and getting under the skin of a business to identify its key drivers, challenges and opportunities. I recognise the importance of reporting findings in a clear, concise manner and a format easily digestible by management and stakeholders when the decision-making window is short.

Outside of work, I volunteer as vice-chair of a membership-led charity and enjoy making the most of my home city of Glasgow’s dining out and live music offerings.
