I am the practice leader for our Bristol and south-west offices, the fastest-growing business region in the UK, and a well-publicised investment area for Grant Thornton. I lead a team of five partners, 10 directors and 200-plus people, all providing high-quality advice and service to our clients and to the marketplace.
My client portfolio and experience sits across multiple sectors from global distribution businesses to UK-focused support services and a top 10 UK charity. As engagement lead my objective is always to provide that insight, to support my clients' growth ambitions. To help CEOs to do just this I recently launched our south-west 'CEO Room', a critical thinking space for business leaders to work on their key strategic, financial and business issues.
I put my fluent French language skills to test by working in our Paris office for two years. I keep this skill by coordinating various client and market relationships with our French firm.
I am an elected member of the firm's Partnership Oversight Board. I also chair the firm's risk assurance committee, as well as being a director of our insurance business.
Beyond work I am married to Joanne and have a young son. Most weekends I can be found on my bike and confess to being a MAMIL (middle-aged man in Lycra) – but then again, who isn't these days?
