Finance Assistant – Entry level role – Milton Keynes

The Finance Business Partner team is a team spread across the UK supporting the full breadth of the firm.  We play an essential role in the financial reporting and key KPIs tracking processes, supporting the firm in achieving its objectives.

 We are now looking for someone to join our team to help us grow for the future and you’ll be part of a cohort of new starters, so will have a peer group to work alongside as you develop in your new role. Support will be available to help you study towards a professional finance qualification, making this a really great opportunity to establish your career in finance.  

 A look into the role

As a Finance Assistant within our Finance team, you will:

  • Embed good discipline around core business processes such as timesheets, expenses, portfolio management
  • Offer system support and training on core business processes
  • Be responsible for producing regular reporting including KPIs and accounts
  • Meet stakeholders from across the business to understand their needs
  • Maintain integrity of financial data, maintaining a keen eye for detail
  • Help with key financial decisions
  • Manage and post regular journals

You’ll also supporting core finance processes, including:

  • Data management and housekeeping
  • Ad hoc reporting and data requests
  • Monthly and annual accounts including WIP valuation
  • Rolling forecasting, business planning and annual budgeting

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as a Finance Assistant, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:

  • A desire to build a career in finance
  • An interest in data and reporting
  • Strong organisational skill and attention to detail
  • Able to manage workload and deliver to deadlines

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Experience of Business World or PowerBI
  • Some understanding of income recognition principles
  • Strong IT skills including Excel
  • Good communication skills including the ability to write clearly and effectively
