Claire Hampson

I am a director in the firms public services consulting team supporting modern public services to be sustainable, people-centred, data-driven and digitally enabled. I have over 9 years’ experience of working across the public sector and specialise in insight-led decision making and leading major transformation and financial turnaround programmes.

Having started off my career as a data analyst, now in my consulting role I bring my data analysis skills and tools to address some of the most significant challenges facing public services today. Leading our data and insight work for local government, I am able to bring together my experience of delivery with my experience of data analysis in order to problem solve and drive genuine actionable insight for councils looking to get to the heart of the challenges they are facing.

Specific experience includes:

• leading in the development of the firm’s market leading local government financial benchmarking tool, now used by 80 councils across England, and now leading the day to day delivery and management of the tool
• leading a rapid financial turnaround programme identifying savings equivalent to 12% of the organisations spend in just 3 months
• leading a cross council COVID-19 recovery programme at a major local authority within London, resulting in a £70m transformation and modernisation programme to improve public service delivery
• leading the diagnosis of a Unitary council’s internal legal services function and design of a change programme to reduce significant external legal spend and improve internal customer satisfaction.
   

I have been a finalist for two awards:

• Grant Thornton International ‘Experience Awards’, 2019 - Nominated by GT UK for the ‘Emerging Leader Award’ and shortlisted in the final three nominees
• ‘Young Consultant of the Year’, 2022 - Finalist in the Management Consultancies Association Awards.
