Grant Thornton invests in deals and business consulting offering

Leading business and financial adviser Grant Thornton UK LLP has announced multiple senior appointments and promotions within its deals and business consulting offering, including four new partners, demonstrating significant investment in the future.

Adam Sutton has joined the firm as Partner within the Valuations and Modelling team. He brings more than 20 years’ experience from senior valuation roles in London and Singapore, supporting corporates, private equity houses and funds. Adam brings vast experience across a range of sectors, but with a particular focus on technology, media and telecommunications. He will be supporting the firm’s clients with their valuation requirements in the areas of restructuring, tax, financial reporting, acquisitions, and expert determinations, helping to expand the firm’s reach and capabilities both in the UK and internationally.

Jon Stubbings has been promoted to Partner in the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services, Financial Due Diligence team. Jon joined Grant Thornton in 2006 and specialises in financial due diligence, working predominantly with private equity clients and corporate clients in the technology, media and telecommunications space on both the buy and sell side. He also sits on the editorial panel of Corporate Financier magazine.

Michael Gilmore has also been promoted to Partner within the Transaction Tax team. Michael has been with the firm for almost 15 years and has extensive experience working on all elements of mergers and acquisitions tax, principally due diligence and structuring transactions. He also works closely with management teams and funds to support private equity-backed businesses from buy-in through to exit, with tax and broader value enhancement services.

Paul Jefferies has been promoted to Partner in the firm’s Business Consulting team. Paul joined Grant Thornton in 2016 after almost 20 years working in the telecommunications industry in a range of operational leadership roles predominantly focused on revenue and margin assurance. He leads Grant Thornton’s Margin and Value Innovation team which focuses on helping clients maximise profitability through innovation and disruptive technology. Paul also sits on the firm’s technology, media and telecommunications leadership team, supporting its sector focus both domestically and internationally.

The firm has also recently announced seven new Director appointments within the D&BC team. Director promotions include Jason Ward-Horner and Edward Orme in Transaction Advisory, David Mountjoy in Valuations and Modelling, James Hichens in Restructuring and Ros Murphy in the Financial Accounting Advisory Services team.

Paul Lynch has also joined the firm as Director in the firm’s Financial Services Due Diligence team. Paul joins Grant Thornton from The Apex Group where he was a Senior Vice President in Financial Planning and Analysis. James Moore also joins the firm as a Director in the Transaction Tax team. He brings with him several years of experience in both corporate and private equity transactions.
