I am a partner and head of restructuring in Scotland. I have spent the last 20 years advising distressed and under-performing businesses, I also act on behalf of stakeholders (banks, shareholders, etc) of such businesses. In a world of continual political and economic uncertainty, businesses encounter challenges every day – early advice and support is critical, and my team and I have significant experience across a number of sectors, including energy, food and drink, manufacturing, construction and health care.
I am also a licensed insolvency practitioner. I run a corporate and personal insolvency practice, taking debtor and creditor led appointments, and am always happy to have an initial conversation with anyone who may be encountering financial challenges.
I also lead our Scottish forensic practice and have built up extensive experience as an expert witness, preparing expert reports, supporting mediations and giving expert evidence in court. I have also acted as a joint expert in an expert determination.
Our forensic offering extends to dispute resolution and quantification of loss (commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, business interruption claims, personal injury claims and professional negligence actions), as well as fraud investigations. We have undertaken a number of investigations into employee fraud, utilising our digital forensic team to secure and interrogate large volumes of data.
With a strong and experienced team around me, we are exceptionally well placed to support clients across the full spectrum of our restructuring and forensic offerings.
Outside of work you will generally find my wife and I trekking round various classes and soft play centres with our three young children.
