I work in the public company advisory team, particularly with companies who are either quoted on a stock exchange or are looking at an IPO or listing. I have over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance including fund raising, IPOs, M&A and public takeovers.
After moving into corporate finance, I gained exposure to mid-market private equity and M&A before my first acquisition mandate for a listed client on the Main Market. This led to me specialising in assisting companies with the additional challenges of public market and takeover regulations. During my time working at a stockbroking firm, I gained specific experience in providing advice for quoted companies in the mining and oil and gas sectors and have continued to work in these sectors. I have supported companies who have operations across Europe, Africa and Asia and have experience in precious and base metals, coal and coal bed methane, and natural gas.
I am active in the wider AIM community and with focus groups for small and mid-size quoted companies. I am a member and previous chairperson of the Quoted Companies Alliance’s Corporate Finance Expert Group. I use these opportunities to assist in the development of the quoted company regulatory and legislative environment, through consultation and interest groups, and enjoy the interaction with my peer group across the advisory and corporate community, who have the common interest of keeping London as a leading financial centre.
I am a keen reader of science fiction and fantasy, a habit encouraged from having spent countless hours on planes during my childhood. I was regular long haul flyer due to living in several different countries across the Middle East and having family in the UK and Hong Kong. My interests range from Tolkien and George R.R. Martin to Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov and Pierce Brown, with visual inspiration along the way from Alan Moore and Hiromu Arakawa. I’m always looking out for book recommendations and often found browsing the basement aisles of Forbidden Planet.
