I joined our public company advisory team in January 2000, from our recovery and reorganisation team, having spent some 15 years in industry following my qualification as a Chartered Accountant in 1984. As a Qualified Executive, authorised by the London Stock Exchange, most of my work involves advising companies looking to join the London Stock Exchange’s AIM Market and providing continuing advice to companies already listed. I perform a similar role for companies listed on or looking to join the AQSE Growth Market as Corporate Adviser and advise both bidder and target companies that are subject to the UK takeover code.
I work with companies in a wide range of sectors and these include businesses involved in natural resources, investment companies, clean technology and life sciences businesses, operating in a number of jurisdictions including Australia, Southern Africa and India.
Most of my day to day work revolves around providing regulatory advice to quoted companies and, in particular, helping them communicate effectively with investors and the market generally, whilst ensuring they comply with an increasingly complex set of laws, regulations and corporate governance guidelines across a number of jurisdictions. I pride myself on my ability to respond rapidly and provide sound commercial and technical advice to clients across several time zones.
Much of what I do applies to companies irrespective of their industry sector and although I seek to bring the same commitment and attention to detail to all of my clients, I have a particular affinity for clients in the technology and life sciences space.
Outside of work, like most people my life has changed considerably since COVID-19 and I have become keener than ever about growing vegetables, sprouting and composting and subjecting my family to my increasingly erratic cooking. As a recovering diabetic, I am passionate about the power of food to bring (or destroy) health and its effect on the global environment. When I think about it, I continue to follow the Tottenham Hotspur football club with varying degrees of despair.
