Sarah Atherton

I completed my training in the firm's audit practice and have specialised in forensic accountancy since 2016. I'm experienced in preparing both expert and advisory reports across a range of commercial disputes and sectors, including manufacturing, property and construction, and infrastructure. Many of the disputes I've worked on feature an international element. I also have experience of investigation projects relating to fraud and ‘black hole’ investigations, process and control reviews, and regulatory reviews.

My recent experience includes:

  • preparation of expert reports in an LCIA Arbitration on behalf of an automotive distributor claiming for loss of profits suffered as a result of the alleged unlawful non-renewal and termination of a distribution agreement
  • preparation of expert reports in High Court litigation on behalf of one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK in relation to losses suffered due to the installation of alleged faulty equipment
  • loss of profits calculation in relation to the alleged non-performance of a supply contract for the purpose of an ICC Arbitration
  • preparation of expert reports in respect of a complex cash flow tracing exercise to calculate damages in High Court litigation.

When not at work, I enjoy hiking in the Lake District, supporting Everton FC and avidly following rugby league.
