I joined the firm as a pensions advisory director in January 2023. I have broad experience of pensions work involving both covenant and affordability assessments, for the purposes of Scheme Specific Funding. I also assess the impact of corporate transactions on the covenant for clearance purposes involving share and asset sales, refinancing and group restructurings.
I have experience of both single and multi-employer situations, many involving overseas parent entities. I have been involved in advising trustees when certifying contingent assets for PPF levy purposes and when considering asset backed funding arrangements. I have also gained valuable experience from several substantial corporate and pension scheme restructurings involving scheme apportionment and PPF entry via Regulated Apportionment Arrangements.
I have provided advice to pension scheme trustees and corporates across multiple sectors, but I have experience in manufacturing and distribution, higher education, regulated utilities, professional practices, and mining. My experience in the mining sector was gathered over an 18-month period working on an innovative pension-led distressed restructuring of UK Coal, which ultimately led to a considerably improved outcome for the members of its defined benefit pension scheme.
I am focussed on providing quality, value added advice to my clients which is proportionate to their needs. I am down-to-earth, approachable and I break down complex ideas to make them more understandable for clients.
Outside of work, apart from my other full-time job as a husband and father, I am a keen reader, walker, cook and cinema goer.
