Jackie Stringer

I am a certified chartered accountant and licenced insolvency practitioner and have worked in the insolvency industry since 1993 specialising in personal insolvency since 2001. I lead our team in Bristol who specialise in bankruptcies, compulsory liquidations for all clients.

I have handled over 1000 personal insolvency cases and as well as experience of bankruptcy law in England and Wales, I have some experience of Australian bankruptcy law having spent 12 months working there and have also dealt with Northern Ireland bankruptcies. I also have had the experience of managing a large number of individual voluntary arrangements. I combine my extensive experience and technical knowledge with empathy and understanding for both creditors and debtors in order to find the best solutions to maximise returns for creditors.

Previous experience includes six years in consultancy and insolvency in the London insurance and reinsurance market and four years in corporate insolvency where I traded a variety of businesses and carried out business reviews. Many of the projects I have undertaken have required me to quickly understand processes in place and work with people in, often, hostile conditions. I also used to be a supermarket manager.

I am a member of the R3 personal insolvency committee which gives me the opportunity to have input to and challenge legislation affecting personal insolvency.

In my spare time, I enjoy trying out all sorts of activities which include playing the flute with a local band and spending my weekends on the side of various football and rugby pitches.
