Our second Oxfordshire LTD report highlights the spirit and ambition of the county’s top privately owned businesses. Despite economic headwinds and an 11.8% drop in average EBITDA, Oxfordshire’s top 100 companies achieved a combined turnover of £9.5 billion, up 5.8% year-on-year. They expanded their workforce by 6.6% to 49,262 employees and average wages rose 6.8% to £36,000, underscoring the region’s commitment to talent.
Sector performance remains strong: Consumer leads with £1.9 billion in turnover, followed by Manufacturing & Industrial and Business Support Services at £1.6 billion each. International players also make a significant impact, with the top 25 subsidiaries generating £7.8 billion in turnover and bringing global investment from countries including Canada, Japan, Chile, and Peru.
Oxford tops the local leaderboard with 20 companies in the Top 100, contributing £2.6 billion in turnover, while Banbury and Bicester follow closely, both with 15 companies each.
