When applying online for a role with us on our careers website, applicants will need to supply sufficient information for us to be able to evaluate their application. We will usually require that you provide your name, contact details, details of your qualifications, skills, experience, employment history, information about your expectations and eligibility to work in the UK. We may ask for other personal data (including special categories of data and criminal records) during your application or after we’ve made an offer, we will explain why and how it will be processed when it is requested. We may also collect personal data about you from third parties, such as references supplied by former employers or conduct background checks.

In some cases we may use automated decision making as part of our recruitment process. This takes place at the early stages. You will have to meet certain benchmarks to proceed to the next stage in the process. The benchmarks which are in place are pre-determined and an automated decision to progress or reject you is made based on how you score against the required benchmark.

We use such personal data for the following purposes:

-     manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm suitability for employment

-     to potentially enter into an employment contract with you

-     provide information about other employment opportunities with us

-     comply with legal, regulatory or professional obligations (eg positions requiring approval or specific qualifications)
