I focus on people and culture risk and help organisations assess the risk in their organisational culture or risk culture, to then undertake internal audit work. I also undertake people risk audits looking at people strategy, reward, talent management, diversity and inclusion, and performance management as well as HR operations. I provide programme assurance over people transformation programmes.

I have 30 years of experience in the field of culture and people, mainly in the financial services sector and always global in nature, but more recently in the retail, hospitality and manufacturing sectors.

I am the author of the CIIA publication ‘A journey into Auditing Culture’ and a pioneer in this evolving field of internal audit. I bring front line experience of actively establishing and changing cultures, including 10 years at the highest levels of HR in a global bank.

I am passionate about working with organisations on their cultures. Often leaders cannot see how they can effect sustainable change to a culture; with the right tools they can quickly see that evolve. Internal audit can add huge value and enable this change and being involved in assignments where this is seen and felt at senior executive and board level is hugely exciting. From large global organisations right down to start ups, culture can have significant impact on whether an organisation achieves its business goals.

I am a board member of Amnesty International UK and am passionate about Human Rights.

I enjoy walking, travelling and baking – once applying for The Great British Bake off but not making it to the final line up.
