Emma O’Hare

I am a qualified chartered accountant with over 13 years’ audit, assurance and advisory experience in both private and public sectors. I deliver client-facing advisory on energy-related infrastructure projects and have extensive experience on working on large projects with government bodies. My experience includes; policy evaluation, options and financial analysis, value for money analysis, transaction advisory, due diligence, procurement and contractual documentation development.

I am passionate about helping clients to realise their net zero ambitions, whether that’s through shaping low carbon policies and strategies or advising on projects that can deliver real carbon savings and unlock wider opportunities for businesses and local communities alike. Meeting net zero by 2050 (or earlier) will require innovation and collaboration across a number of disciplines and I am enjoying bringing together teams that can tailor a solution to meet our clients’ needs. For example, recently I worked on a feasibility study for Glasgow City Regions, looking at funding and commercial models to deliver a series of retrofit projects which drew together expertise from technical, financial and commercial workstreams. My experience includes writing business cases for district heating projects, policy evaluation and investment analysis for renewable CfDs and assurance over various energy related regulation including programmes such as Feed-In Tariff, Energy Company Obligation, Renewables Obligation (including NIRO) and Warm Home Discount.

Outside of work, I can usually be found spending time with my two young children and when time allows climbing mountains.
