We are delighted to have advised LDC on their investment in PSS

PSS is one of the UK’s leading independent hybrid power specialists. The business designs and assembles high-performance battery storage units (BSUs) and supplies BSUs directly to end users, as well as partnering with leading hire companies in the UK to deliver units via a cross-hire model.

An expanding market coupled with an increase in demand for PSS’s products has enabled the business to deliver significant growth in recent years.

With the outlook of further accelerating this growth trajectory, PSS secured investment from LDC in December 2024. The LDC team will support the business to further develop its product portfolio and its strategy of expanding into new end markets.

The Grant Thornton team provided LDC with buy-side advice on their investment in PSS. Over the course of the deal we worked closely with LDC, where we project managed the deal through to completion and provided valuable advice throughout key deal negotiation discussions. In addition, we supported LDC with detailed financial and commercial analysis on the target business.

Drawing on our in-depth understanding of the target and the hybrid generator / specialist hire markets, the Grant Thornton team also prepared a comprehensive exit review paper for LDC and provided detailed valuation analysis to support their assessment of PSS.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Grant Thornton on this transaction. The team provided us with valuable advice and helped us to navigate a number of complexities over the course of the deal. The team demonstrated strong sector knowledge and by partnering with us through their local delivery team in the Midlands, effectively managed the deal, helping us to achieve a successful outcome.
