We're delighted to have advised on the sale of Purity Global Limited to Romar Global Care
Purity Global is a Hull-based supplier of value-led household cleaning products, founded in 2004. The business supplies a broad range of products, including dishwasher tablets, rinse aids, dishwasher salt, and laundry detergents and gels, to the UK grocery and discount retail markets.
Grant Thornton was engaged by the shareholders of Purity Global Limited to achieve an exit, ultimately via the sale of a majority stake to Romar Global Care, a Spanish homecare manufacturer.
Our corporate finance team ran a competitive, tightly managed process involving a number of UK and overseas based trade parties.
Grant Thornton used its understanding of the consumer sector and its international network to identify and approach parties considered to have a strong strategic alignment to Purity.
Having obtained strategic interest from Romar Global Care, we optimised shareholder value through structuring a deal that allowed Purity management to retain equity interest in the upside, with a flexible exit realisation mechanism.
Corporate finance partner Jim Whittaker, who led the deal, commented, “Purity Global has an excellent reputation in the household cleaning market, with long‑established relationships with some of the UK’s best‑known retailers. Romar Global Care’s strategic investment in Purity will accelerate RGC’s international growth plans, broaden Purity’s category offerings in the UK and unlock new overseas channels for Purity’s brands.”
