Over my 32 years at Grant Thornton, I have worked in consultancy, assurance, transaction advisory and corporate finance advisory services. This broad range of experience combined with my commercial background, obtained working in industry in the UK and the US, allows me to be a trusted and all round adviser to my clients.
I have headed up the South Asia Group since 1991, which I founded to provide a full range of services to South Asian companies coming to the UK and UK companies going to South Asia. I also lead the services to our UK-based Asian-owned clients. I am one of the few people in the UK who has 26 years' experience of working in the UK-India corridor.
I regularly appear on TV and print media commenting on the above markets. This has included BBC World News, CNBC, Bloomberg and the Financial Times. I have been nominated and won a number of awards and I have also created two thought leadership publications in the India/UK: India Watch and the India meets Britain tracker, which are recognised as leading reports by commentators in the sector.
Notable transactions I have been involved in include Tata Motors acquisition of JLR and advising Pizza Express on its re-entry into India. I have also advised numerous Asian entrepreneurs grow their businesses including Cobra Beer, Vitabiotics and Euro Car Parts.
In my spare time I spend time with my wife and daughter and paint. I also act as trustee for two small charities, one focused on promoting Asian theatre and artists.
