Norman Armstrong

I am a partner with more than 30 years' experience helping dynamic businesses achieve their strategic goals and potential for growth. I am Private Equity Leader for UK Audit and Practice Leader for our Thames Valley and Southampton locations. Working across the South region, my clients are primarily fast-growing Private Equity and Capital backed businesses and privately held international groups. I'm a passionate advocate of the power and importance of medium-sized businesses, their influence on the UK economy, ability to outperform their peer group and develop successfully in new markets internationally.
 
Having always focused on growing businesses, I recognise that change and transition is a constant. I share the insights and knowledge I have gained throughout my career to guide those I work with through the opportunities and challenges they face. I firmly believe that people, leadership and culture lie at the heart of success and a key part of my role is building great relationships and helping people achieve their potential. I’ve supported businesses across a range of sectors. 
 
I served on the Grant Thornton UK LLP Partnership Governance Board from 2018-2025, as well as the Risk and Audit and Remuneration committees. I also served on the Audit and Risk Committee of the RYA and chaired not for profit boards.
