I’m a member of our financial accounting advisory services (FAAS) team, specialising in providing advice on financial and non-financial reporting to businesses in accordance with UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP. I have advised on projects involving corporate reorganisations, the adoption of new accounting standards, business combinations and refinancing - including private equity investment.
I started my career within the firms commercial audit practice, which involved auditing a broad range of complex and international groups, including businesses which were listed and backed by private equity. I have found that this experience allows me to provide advice that is not only pragmatic, but also stands up to auditor scrutiny.
More recently I’ve become a member of the ICAEW Non-Financial Reporting Committee. The Committee is responsible for the development of ICAEW policy on non-financial reporting issues and ensuring that the ICAEW works in the public interest to influence national and international legislators, regulators and standard setters. This involves commenting on discussion papers, exposure drafts and other consultation documents issued by key organisations. My involvement in this provides a platform to express the opinions of the market on non-financial reporting matters.
I’m a big fan of sport in general and particularly enjoy watching football, basketball, netball, athletics and boxing. I actively support some of my local teams including Aston Villa FC and Worcester Wolves Basketball Club, having held season tickets at both over the years. My other passions are music and food – I love listening to live music and trying the latest independent restaurants!
