ArticleExplore five key pressure points for SMEs and entrepreneurial businesses and how finance leaders can turn financial strain into stability, resilience and growth.
In my 20 years as an auditor, I've worked with large international groups, privately-owned businesses, private equity-backed companies and not-for-profit organisations. I now lead the entrepreneurial and SME audit service across Yorkshire, the Humber, and North East England, collaborating with fast-growing businesses which aim to expand both within the UK and internationally.
My main focus is collaborating with directors and management of innovative, privately-owned businesses as an auditor and relationship lead. I proactively support them in driving tangible value and fostering relationships that extend beyond statutory audits. By introducing ideas and connecting them with the right people at the right time, I assist in their growth journey.
I have extensive experience across various sectors, particularly in manufacturing, precision engineering, technology, healthcare and not-for-profit organisations. I work with large international groups and have experience coordinating with overseas audit firms in the US, Asia-Pacific and across Europe.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and two children – currently, I'm helping my 10-year-old son train for a fitness test to earn his black belt in martial arts. In my free time, I also enjoy walking in the Peak District, which is conveniently close to home.
