I lead the restructuring and debt advisory practice across Yorkshire and the North East. I have over 28 years’ of experience in advising corporates and stakeholders in relation to debt and strategy.

I currently have a particular focus on Higher Education and lead the firm's HE advisory offering nationally, spending significant amounts of time working with CFOs, VC, boards, lenders and regulators to help universities navigate their way through a very challenging environment.

Recent assignments include helping a prominent post 92 institution by independently reviewing its five year forecast prior to submission to the regulator, stress testing its transition plan, and subsequently working with our debt advisory team to help raise a significant RCF facility to improve liquidity.

I also provide a range of advisory services to corporates and funders, working with management teams to help them raise or restructure new and existing debt to fund new projects, undertake pre-lending diligence for funders, and running accelerated sales processes to preserve employment and value.

As part of my professional development, in 2009 I undertook a year long secondment to HSBC Bank plc, where I performed due diligence on new funding applications. I have performed pre-lending reviews for funders ever since.

I am also a licenced Insolvency Practitioner and have assisted numerous directors and shareholders work through their cashflow problems to achieve a positive outcome.

Outside of work, I am a scratch golfer and regularly represent both Northumberland County, and The Northumberland Golf Club.  I am also a keen cyclist, snowboarder, and Newcastle United fan.
