I have over 30 years’ experience in financial reviews and restructuring. My current role within our advisory team in Scotland, focuses on both reorganisation and insolvency advice and related implementation, plus defined benefit pensions advisory, for both trustees and employers.
My experience is wide ranging across a number of sectors but more recent engagements have concentrated on retail real estate, residential care (both elderly and youth), financial services (primarily the high cost credit sector), heavy engineering and food and beverage manufacturing.
This work has involved pre-lending reviews, independent business reviews, contingency planning and insolvency advice, implementation of insolvency solutions (administration, receivership and liquidation). I also have undertaken solvent restructurings and assessment of turnaround strategies.
I have undertaken a number of employer covenant assessments for pension trustees involving a number of high-profile household names and have significant experience of the assessment of affordability, advising on the impact of corporate transactions and the challenges of schemes linked to UK subsidiaries of large international groups.
Outside of work I enjoy golf, hill-walking and European history.
