Leading business and financial advisor Grant Thornton UK has relocated its Cambridge office to the Maurice Wilkes Building, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the city.
The new office, located at St John’s Innovation Park, will bring Grant Thornton’s Audit, Tax and Advisory teams into a modern workspace, designed to support collaboration and flexible ways of working. It will also bring together specialists from the software development team, supporting the evolution of innovative tools used across the firm’s audit practice.
The regional team plays a crucial role in advancing digital innovation across the UK firm, helping to embed data-led ways of working while maintaining a clear focus on quality.
The Cambridge office is home to key members of Grant Thornton’s AI & Audit Lab and Digital Teams. who are focused on enhancing quality through advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence and innovative digital solutions.
This work forms part of the firm’s wider technology and digital ambitions, including the recently announced £500 million multi-year investment plan to transform its client experience for the digital economy.
The Cambridge office is also home to Grant Thornton’s market-leading Corporate Finance team in the East of England, which last year advised on fourteen transactions in the region, with a combined value of more than £350 million.
Notable transactions included the sale of Ipswich-based data privacy compliance specialist The DPO Centre to Axiom GRC, Cambridge-based Addresscloud securing investment from Kester Capital, and the sale of premium milkshake brand Shaken Udder to Spanish chocolate business Idilia.
Grant Thornton also has a strong Tax and Advisory presence in Cambridge and the wider East of England. The firm’s local teams advise businesses across a range of sectors, supporting clients with growth, tax strategy, transformation and long-term value creation.
