Our inaugural Surrey LTD. report showcases the resilience and achievement of Surrey’s privately owned businesses. Despite economic challenges, the county’s top 100 companies achieved an astounding combined turnover of £13 billion, employing nearly 55,000 people. While EBITDA dipped 10.2% to £1.4 billion, average remuneration rose 4.5% to £50,000, reflecting a strong commitment to talent. 

Surrey’s global reach is notable, with the 25 largest international subsidiaries generating £62.5 billion in turnover. Locally, Guildford leads with 12% of top companies, while Leatherhead tops turnover at £2.5 billion.

The report uses the most recent publicly available accounts (as of 23 July 2025). It includes businesses that are privately owned and headquartered in Surrey, excluding listed companies, overseas subsidiaries, and charities.

The real estate and construction sector and the manufacturing, sector are the biggest contributors, with a turnover of £4 billion and £3.5 billion respectively. The report also explores growth in technology, healthcare, business support services, and more.

Guildford features the most businesses in the top 100, while Leatherhead leads in total turnover at £2.5 billion. The report highlights other rising areas within the region.
