We are delighted to have advised Wireless Social Holdings Limited on their sale to The Access Group
Founded in 2013, Wireless Social provides a software/data as a service platform supporting Guest Wi-Fi login, data capture and analysis to the hospitality sector, with over 9,000 live venues in Europe. The company has built an established and scaled position in the UK hospitality sector, with embedded industry relationships supported by an industry leading platform capable of producing invaluable insights on customer behaviour.
Wireless Social has seen impressive growth in recent years and has secured a strong pipeline of opportunities to deliver further growth. The shareholders engaged Grant Thornton to help realise value expectations whilst bringing on board the right strategic partner to support the expansion of its product offering as well as into new sectors, geographies and operators.
Our team always wanted to ensure that ambitions and objectives of all stakeholders were at the forefront of the transaction. As such, we spent significant time at the outset to plan the process accordingly.
We developed a close working relationship and deep understanding of the business, allowing us to approach the parties who had the most strategic fit in the business, whilst also building a competitive process. Our up-front preparation, and early financial analysis also enabled an efficient due diligence process in order to minimise disruption to the business.
The team project-managed the sale process from start to finish, providing invaluable shareholder support and leading negotiations to ensure all stakeholder objectives were met, from the remaining management to exiting investors.
Our industry knowledge and transaction expertise combined with wider support from the Tax Advisory team enabled the team to deliver a result that exceeded the objectives of the shareholders. Furthermore, the deal provides a strong strategic fit and will allow both Wireless Social and Access to drive additional growth going forwards.
