We are delighted to have advised Fusion Group Ltd on their sale to AVK Group.
Fusion Group Limited ('Fusion') was founded in 1971 by its former Chairman and majority shareholder Eric Bridgstock. While working to develop the polyethylene pipe market in the UK, Eric identified and exploited a gap in the then emerging market for pipe jointing equipment by creating the Fusion Group.
Fusion is now recognised as a world leader in the manufacture of products used in the construction of polyethylene pipe networks in sectors as diverse as gas, water, wastewater, ground source energy, aquaculture and landfill. Fusion operates globally, with manufacturing sites in the UK, China and Egypt.
Today Fusion employs in excess of 300 people around the globe and generated revenue of over £21 million in the 2015-16 trading year.
Fusion received an off-market approach from AVK Group, a Danish headquartered valve manufacturer, to acquire the business. Having previously advised Fusion on the sale of its UK distribution business in 2014, we were appointed again by the shareholders to advise on the sale to AVK Group.
Our corporate finance advisory team provided project management, financial analysis and assistance and negotiation of the key commercial elements of the transaction. This ensured there was no value leakage and that the deal operated smoothly, completing in a timely manner.
