I co-lead Fairgrove, Grant Thornton’s strategy, value creation and commercial due diligence company, which I co-founded in 2013. I advise corporations and private equity clients on how to grow profitable sales, create shareholder value, and appraise the commercial aspects of mergers and acquisitions. This typically involves a combination of customer insight, market research, financial and competitor analyses and stakeholder interviews to draw practical, evidence-based conclusions and recommendations. I work across multiple sectors of the economy, including industrials, technology, consumer and B2B services

As a naturally competitive person, I enjoy working with ambitious companies to help them become leaders in their markets and sectors. This requires analytical rigour to understand the root causes of their performance, differentiation, competitive position and advantage - an approach which applies equally to corporate strategy and commercial due diligence. I dislike padding in presentations and ensure that all our output passes the 'so what?' test. 

Outside work and family life, I am a published author and Bob Dylan buff. If I’m not at home or in the office, you might find me at Franklin’s Gardens, on the west coast of Scotland, or trail running through the countryside with a Large Munsterlander,
