I am a partner in Grant Thornton’s Fund Solutions team. I help private fund managers, investors and their advisers when a fund is challenged, distressed or nearing the end of its life. My work covers fund wind-downs, general partner (GP) removal and succession, limited partner (LP) advisory, asset sales and financial restructuring. When a situation calls for action, I can step in as manager or director. For funds short of liquidity, Grant Thornton’s Enforcement Capital Fund (ECF) can buy residual assets and claims, or bridge fees and costs.
My sector experience covers mining, energy, power and critical minerals.
I have over 14 years’ experience in restructuring, valuation and special situations, across the UK, Cayman Islands, Luxembourg, US, Canada and various emerging markets.
Most of my work starts with conversations about a fund or asset that past its expected term, experiencing distress and or needs specialist assistance. I then set out the facts, cost the options and help the GP and investors agree a route. Day to day, I work with law firms and with colleagues in valuation, tax, debt advisory, corporate finance and offshore.
Outside work, you will find me skiing, biking, cooking or spending time with my family. I am a US and UK dual citizen. I studied finance in Seattle and have worked in San Francisco, Amsterdam and London.
