A highly experienced cyber security professional covering all domains with specialism in infrastructure and architecture, passionate about helping GT clients safely operate and manage their security risks to excel in their business.

I have spent 20+ years in secure technology, from the highest levels of security in government projects, through to large scale corporate security transformations across people process and technology ensuring that the cyber strategy is met by the cyber security architecture. I’ve helped clients solve complex security problems, ensure they are prepared for an event and also helped post event. I’ve also got experience in security operations, from SOC operations through to vulnerability management, IDAM and cloud posture management. Michael has also worked in legal cyber cases and M&A

I provide a consulting led approach to helping clients arrive at the most appropriate and proportionate security controls and posture to support their business. This includes getting the security strategy right and creating deliverable plans and budgets that support the risk appetite and the risk posture.

As a partner in cyber security, I help CISOs, CIOs, CFOs and their teams to be as effective as they can be in their planning and operations to protect the business from the cyber security threats.

I have helped clients on engagements such as lightweight maturity assessments to understand their baseline and plan to achieve a proportionate security posture, through to complex 10+ year secure technology deliveries including security operations/run and devsecops. Through this, I have experience across all security domains, including OT security.

Most clients I work with need help defining what good looks like, understanding where they are today and how to prepare for the future in the fast-paced security environment. For example, I’ve most recently helped clients to understand roadmaps for Quantum safe implementation to protect data using next generation cryptography that is quantum computer resistant and adopting crypto agile approaches.

One of the largest projects I’ve helped a client with, was the security for the next generation smart meter network for the UK. This 10 year project included end to end security, compliance and operational run. The security architecture was built into a modern highly scalable cloud infrastructure with microservices ontop. The nature of this was highly sensitive and future proofing was essential with upcoming frontier AI models, Quantum threat and elevated overall cyber threat to CNI-type environments.
