I joined the firm in 2023 and have over 20 years of experience working in the infrastructure sector, having held senior positions in public sector organisations and as a commercial advisor to a range of private sector clients including operators, owners, infrastructure managers, asset owners and investors. I lead strategy, commercial and procurement assignments with our clients – particularly specialising where the public and private sectors interact.
My experience of major infrastructure programmes includes some of the largest transport schemes such as HS2 and the Euston redevelopment in the UK and Metrolink in Ireland, and in the offshore wind sector supporting the delivery of multi-gigawatt (GW) of green energy. My experience spans from concept definition and strategy right through to execution and disposal which allows me to bring whole lifecycle understanding to clients’ challenges.
My approach is client-driven and I thrive in complex, stakeholder-rich environments where problem solving skills come to the fore and delivery benefits from investing in taking others on the journey, as well as reaching the right destination. I enjoy helping clients navigate ambiguity and help them to make decisions and deliver by managing risk and uncertainty. A client recently said “Matt has been fantastic throughout with calm leadership, expertise, integrity, the ability to cut through complexity and to focus on the task”.
Outside of work I’m a dad to two daughters and enjoy spending time with them and my wife in the parks and open spaces of west London. I also enjoy films, going to gigs and following the ups and downs of Nottingham Forest football club.
