I’m a tax partner in Grant Thornton’s Financial Services Tax team. I advise fintechs, banks and non-bank lenders on the tax issues that matter most as they scale, raise capital and change hands.
My background is in international and corporate tax, so I enjoy complex, cross-border questions. In banking and fintech, that means the hybrid capital instruments and securitisation regimes, alongside the UK anti-hybrid and CFC rules for groups expanding abroad. I also advise on group structuring, pre-sale planning and Pillar Two, and I keep close to fast-moving areas such as digital assets taxation.
Fintechs move fast and the rules rarely wait. I’m at my happiest helping them keep moving as they grow from start-up to regulated business. I like to get to know a client’s business properly before advising on it, because the best answers come from understanding how it really works.
