I lead the digital transformation of our audit service line at Grant Thornton. I’ve been with the firm for over 25 years, having spent the majority of my early career as a frontline auditor, before founding our digital audit capability in 2021.
My priority is to make sure that every auditor has the technology, data and support to be able to give the best experience to their clients. My role also covers the firm’s digital audit platforms, our data analytics capability, how we enhance audit provision using digital tools, as well as our partnerships with technology providers, including our long-standing relationship with Inflo.
A pivotal moment for the Digital Audit team and I was building the Audit Analytics Appstore (AAA). This was a first-of-its-kind concept for our firm that put practical, audit-ready technology directly into the hands of auditors. We also launched Grant Thornton’s audit readiness as a service, which has reframed how our teams prepare for and run engagements by using data ingestion to transform the groundwork before the audit starts, increasing the quality and speed of our audit delivery for the benefit of our clients. As the world of professional services continues to change at pace, my role as partner sees me working closely with the Chief Digital Officer on the launch of GT Augment nationally. I ensure alignment with the Audit Leadership Team’s strategic priorities and that our auditors receive the full benefit of what AI can do for their work and for the client experience.
Outside work I live in the North West of England with my wife and our eight-year-old son. I’ve been an Everton season ticket holder since 1988, which has taught me more about resilience than any leadership course. At home you’ll find me deep in a board game with the family or rebuilding the Gravitrax marble run I originally bought for my son and have since taken over entirely.
