Grant Thornton re-appointed to FCA and PRA Skilled Person Panels

Grant Thornton is pleased to announce its successful re‑appointment to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) panels of Skilled Persons, following the regulators’ highly competitive 2025/26 retendering process.

Grant Thornton’s Regulatory Advisory team led the rigorous strategic and technical approach to the re-tender, resulting in success across all 11 lots it applied for, providing the firm with broad coverage across the different technical areas that Skilled Person reviews can encompass.

This outcome reflects the depth and breadth of Grant Thornton’s specialist capabilities across financial services. As a result, the firm will continue its position as a market leading provider of Skilled Person services.

The updated framework includes some changes to the structure of the Panels, including the introduction of new Skilled Person panels for transaction reporting and market abuse.

David Morrey, partner, Regulatory Advisory at Grant Thornton said:

“The new Skilled Persons panels will remain in place for the next four years, enabling Grant Thornton to continue supporting regulators and regulated firms alike, through acting as Skilled Persons across a wide range of lots, or assisting firms in navigating Skilled Person appointments.

“Our appointment to all 11 lots that we applied for reflects the deep levels of expertise and experience of the professionals within Grant Thornton and is further evidence of the regulatory team’s excellent bench-strength.”
