I am a chartered accountant and JIEB (Joint Insolvency Examination Board) qualified. Although, prior to 2004 I was involved in a full range of corporate restructuring and review assignments, since then I have specialised in providing employer covenant advice to trustees and companies for both scheme valuation purposes and in assessing the impact of corporate transactions involving share and asset sales, refinancing and group restructurings.

I have undertaken secondments at both the Pensions Regulator and the Pension Protection Fund. I’ve been involved in assignments involving clearance applications and liaising with both of these bodies in respect of moral hazard issues and appropriate mitigation.  I was closely involved with a number of complex scheme restructurings, including the Uniq, Kodak and Halcrow pension schemes and have provided advice to the trustees of schemes involved in insolvent restructurings, including those recently utilising Company Voluntary Arrangements.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, both around the globe and within the United Kingdom, whilst at home, I like to cook and am a keen gardener. As an enthusiastic spectator of sports, I particularly enjoy watching football and rugby and, although my playing days are behind me, I still play golf, enjoy walking and make the occasional visit to the gym.
