Approaching ESG
PodcastSustainability and impact funding are at the forefront of the private equity agenda, and ESG is increasingly seen as an opportunity for enhancing value.
In my role as Senior Partner, I work closely with the CEO on governance, regulatory and client matters as well as our role as one of the largest member firms in the Grant Thornton International network.
I have been at the firm since 1992, have been involved in transactions since 1996 and have led deals as a partner since 2001. My sector experience includes technology, software and IT services, data and information services, healthcare and financial services, with a particular focus on private equity.
I have served in many leadership roles in and outside the firm during more than 30 years at Grant Thornton. I was appointed to the Strategic Leadership Team in January 2023 to lead the Deals & Business Consulting service line and my role was expanded to Head of Advisory in January 2024. Prior to that, I led Transaction Advisory Services. I have also served on the Partnership Governance Board for eight years and am currently the SLT Sponsor for Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage in our firm.
Between 2018 and 2023, I was Chair of ICAEW’s Corporate Finance Faculty Board, which contributes to policy development, practical initiatives and many consultations by international organisations, governments, regulators and other professional bodies. This was a great honour as the UK’s corporate finance community has a tremendous opportunity and influential role to play in unlocking growth across the economy. I also served on the ICAEW’s Technical Strategy Board until 2024.
