A look into the role

The Financial Crime team sit within the wider Quality & Risk team, support the firm with managing financial crime risk and compliance.

The Head of Client Due Diligence (CDD) Policy & Advisory will lead the development, maintenance, and implementation of our CDD policy and standards. The role forms part of the leadership of the Financial Crime Team, reporting to the MLRO & Head of Financial Crime. 

You'lll be responsible for ensuring our CDD framework is robust, risk-aligned, and operationally efficient while meeting regulatory expectations across applicable jurisdictions. The role also leads the training strategy for the CDD team and ensuring a professional approach to client outreach, helping drive consistency, quality, and client experience.

You'll need deep subject matter expertise, strategic thinking, and people management skills, with direct responsibility for a team of three senior managers.

The role overseees the CDD Policy / Standard, ensuring it meets legal/regulator expectations, and is configured to ensure efficiency. You'll own change (of which there will be significant change in the immediate and long term), ensure engagement with clients and see that the firm is professional and commercially aware.

There will also be an element of training and capability building, designing a structured CDD programme, leading workshops and fostering a culture of learning and regulatory awareness.

Knowing you’re right for us

The minimum criteria you’ll need is extensive experience at associate director level in :

  • Financial Crime risk management and CDD/AML Policy roles in UK regulated firms.
  • Deep understanding of global CDD/KYC regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
  • Strong track record of drafting, implementing, and managing policy documents.
  • Experience designing and leading training and capability-building initiatives related to CDD.
  • Previous direct people management of at least three senior people at one time.
  • Experience of influencing senior stakeholders and support firm-wide CDD transformation initiatives.
  • Proven success in managing change and improving client outreach strategies.
