    Addressing the month end slog

    Addressing the month end slog

    1.
    The challenge
Our high growth client wanted to free up the finance team from the extended month end reporting chore so that they could spend less time on the “what” and more on the “so what” and “now what”.
    2.
    The solution
Having diagnosed the pinchpoints, we helped the client implement new processes and technology, reducing month-end close from 20 to 5 days, while upskilling the finance team in Finance Business Partnering to maximise the time saved.
    3.
    The results
Month end has been sped up by 15 days, saving 40 FTE-days of time input every month. The new skills developed at the same time has ensured that this newly-freed time has been put to great use in value creation for the business.

    3.
    The result
Our client has since integrated acquisitions of varying sizes and continued to grow without needing to rebuild Finance again.
    A systems selection process

    A systems selection process

    1.
    The challenge
Our client was a fast-growing private-equity backed business. A problem with the core Finance system was becoming a barrier to Finance and the wider organisation.
    2.
    The solution
We introduced a specification and selection process as part of a wider finance transformation, ensuring they ended up with the right Finance system, creating a vendor short list and managing it to a decision point.
    3.
    The result
The CFO has since implemented one of the short-listed systems on budget and on-time. This has freed up time in Finance, increased control, and improved management information.
