With over 15 years’ experience in healthcare finance, I am passionate about promoting robust financial management and good governance, supporting healthcare organisations to use data and information to make management decisions and drive organisational change.
I lead the delivery of financial advisory services to healthcare organisations: encompassing financial governance, analysis, planning, management, and improvement. I have 15 years’ experience working with NHS providers, commissioners, national bodies and regulators, as well as private healthcare providers and insurers.
My sector knowledge covers all aspects of NHS finance, including healthcare data, payment, costing, and contracting. I've authored national guidance, delivered several high-profile reviews of NHS financial management and governance, and delivered advisory and assurance work to healthcare organisations.
The services I lead include wider advisory and consultancy work across data quality, information improvement, business planning, clinical strategy development, service and pathway improvement, capital developments and business cases, operational demand and capacity, value for money assessments, and risk management.
A key focus for me is working with clinical, operational, and corporate teams on large and complex projects to solve problems, address challenges, and improve services for patients, services users, and staff.
Outside of work, I'm a trustee and treasurer of a national mental health charity, University Mental Health Advisors Network, and an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the University of Birmingham Guild of Students.
