I have 30 years' experience in UK financial services, starting in industry before moving into business consulting. For the past decade, I've specialised in financial crime prevention. My goal is to help clients respond effectively to regulatory and operational financial crime challenges, whether they're regulated firms, public sector bodies or other corporates. I feel lucky that my area of practice responds to a real societal need – to detect and prevent crime – and sits at the cutting edge of regulation, supervision, data management and technology.
I have extensive experience of helping organisations prepare for and respond to regulatory interventions, including FCA inspection visits and close supervision of subsequent remediation. I've led several large-scale financial crime Skilled Person reviews at UK high street banks, as well as designing and leading file remediation exercises focused on customer due diligence, and looking at the performance of outsourced providers of financial crime services.
While on secondment in industry, I set up and led a financial crime transformation programme for a large composite asset manager and insurer, and redesigned the financial crime risk assessment methodology and financial crime key risk indicators for another firm.
I have a strong interest in newly regulated areas of the industry and in developing technologies, including a current focus on the regulation and compliance of cryptoasset firms, and an interest in the benefits and pitfalls of AI in the financial crime arena.
Outside of work, travel, languages and diverse cultures are a passion. Having grown up in Luxembourg, I'm bi-lingual in French and speak fluent Italian. More far-flung travel destinations have included Pakistan and Mongolia. Back home in London, I enjoy the museums, galleries and libraries on offer, as well as spending time with my friends and godchildren.
