Laurie Eggleston

I am a member of Grant Thornton's Employer Solutions practice, specialising in employee benefits as a route into the wider people cost, tax, payroll and reward picture. With over 20 years in the industry and at the firm since 2011, I work with employers who want more than a benefits adviser: someone who connects benefit design to the tax, payroll and governance decisions sitting behind it.

Most benefits advisers can arrange policies and manage renewals. I focus on the system around them, helping employers see where cost, compliance risk and untapped value are hiding in the gaps between benefits, tax and payroll, and bringing in specialist colleagues across Employment Tax, Reward, Global Mobility and People Consulting when a client's benefits point to a wider issue.

My work includes:

• Leading whole-system benefit reviews that surface cost savings, compliance risk, and communication gaps, not just renewal pricing
• Advising overseas employers setting up UK benefit and pension arrangements from scratch, with tax and payroll built in from day one
• Identifying and resolving salary sacrifice, pension governance, and payroll compliance issues before they become HMRC risk
• Chairing pension governance committees and running employee communication programmes that close the gap between what's spent and what's understood
• Originating conversations with clients and colleagues across Employer Solutions where a benefits issue turns out to be a wider people cost or risk question

Outside work I enjoy reading, weight training, hiking, and trying to keep three young children entertained.
