Andrew Sidaway

I am an associate director in our Insolvency and Asset Recovery team, with a focus on contentious domestic and cross-border matters. I use insolvency and other civil procedures as tools to facilitate and execute global asset recovery strategies. I have almost 20 years of experience in the industry, including the first 13 years of my career in Australia.

Over the course of my career, I’ve worked across the full spectrum of insolvency and liquidation appointments.  At Grant Thornton I manage a variety of contentions personal and corporate insolvency appointments, as well as non-performing loan portfolios in which I work closely with clients, a global legal team and third-party funders to enforce judgments and awards.

I have a strong interest in digital assets and am a core member of our Digital Asset Recovery practice. I’ve published several articles on the topic and use my insolvency and asset recovery experience to shape recovery strategies that go beyond digital assets.

I'm a director and committee member of the Crypto Fraud and Asset Recovery network (CFAAR), a global organisation of professionals seeking to contribute to combatting fraud in this industry and shaping the legal system to improve recovery prospects for victims.  

Outside of work, I’m a keen photographer and spend much of my time travelling.
