Grant Thornton bolsters forensic and investigation services with new partner

Leading business and financial adviser Grant Thornton UK LLP has expanded its Forensic and Investigation Services practice, with the appointment of new partner Steve Holt to the specialist Investigations team.

With a particular focus on aiding companies facing urgent, complex, cross-border issues relating to misconduct, asset recovery and bribery and corruption, Holt brings over 13 years of specialist domestic and international forensic expertise to the team. He joins the firm from K2 Intelligence, where he built its financial investigations practice covering the EMEA region. His extensive experience covers high-profile investigations into public interest matters, representing governments, public companies and private individuals throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.

Steve is a chartered accountant and member of both the ICAEW and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Commenting on the appointment, Will Davies, Head of Forensic and Investigations Services, said: “Steve’s wealth of experience and unique skill-set are a welcomed addition to our growing team. His appreciation of the nuances in navigating complex information and data sets, and ability to translate complicated issues into intelligible analysis make him stand-out in this field and something our clients will undoubtedly benefit greatly from.”

Kevin Shergold, Head of Investigations, welcomed Steve’s arrival: “We’ve created real strength in depth across the investigation spectrum for our clients. Our Forensic Accountants were recently ranked as a leading (Band 1) provider of forensic accountancy services by Chambers and Partners.  Our Digital Forensic team has grown significantly, and we have recently added a mature Corporate Intelligence offering. We’re pioneering some of the most creative solutions globally with our Insolvency and Asset Tracing colleagues, whilst meeting ever-increasing repeat instructions from our corporate clients. It’s exciting to have someone of Steve’s calibre join us at this time.”

Steve Holt added: “Grant Thornton’s solid reputation for quality and innovation in the market has meant it attracts some of the most interesting and intellectually challenging client briefs. The opportunity to work as part of this team and further add to the firm’s capabilities was a natural draw for me and I look forward to building on these qualities.”
