I lead Grant Thornton’s London Turnaround & Restructuring practice and have over 25 years of experience in advising boards and stakeholders during periods of financial challenge.
I work with organisations facing potential or active financial distress, often involving complex capital structures and associated assets, regulated environments, or international operations. Many of my assignments also require careful stakeholder alignment to navigate competing priorities and high‑pressure situations.
Clients value my ability to bring clarity to complex issues, build consensus, and drive difficult processes to resolution. My approach is hands‑on, pragmatic and focused on achieving the right outcome.
Notable appointments include:
Administrator of: intu properties plc, Flybe, Calon Energy Group, Toucan Energy, TXU, HMV Retail, Technicolor Creative Studios, Monarch Aircraft Engineering, 4D Pharma, Elevate Credit and TES Aviation.
Special Manager of: Thomas Cook and Baglan Operations, appointed by and working alongside the Senior Official Receiver.
Part 35 Expert in: McDermott (CB&I) and Chaptre Finance (MGT Teesside) Restructuring Plans.
International roles including: Norwegian Airlines, Cimos Automotive, Refco, MPF Corp (Chapter 11 and Bermudan provisional liquidations), Aero Inventory and Courts International Retail.
I have also acted as company voluntary arrangement supervisor, receiver (including court‑appointed receiver), special administrator and liquidator, and am frequently engaged on confidential advisory mandates for companies, lenders, regulators and sponsors.
My core experience spans financial and operational restructuring, turnaround, board advisory, cash management, business plan diligence, accelerated exit strategies, formal insolvency, interim management, fraud investigations and litigation recoveries across a wide range of sectors.
Outside of work, I’m a family man who enjoys watching sport and getting outdoors for long walks.
