Grant Thornton UK to elevate and expand restructuring solutions for global clients with appointment of David Pike as Partner
Grant Thornton UK is pleased to announce the appointment of David Pike as equity Partner to lead its London Turnaround and Restructuring Division, working alongside Kevin Coates who continues to run the national practice. A senior and established leader in the London Restructuring market, David’s appointment strengthens the firm’s ability to scale its capabilities and support clients as they navigate strategic and operational changes.
This latest strategic senior hire reinforces Grant Thornton’s commitment to build a market leading advisory businesses and deliver on its ambitious plan to recruit 160 partners over the next two years.
David brings a wealth of deep turnaround and restructuring expertise, having advised boards and stakeholders, taken high-profile and complex insolvency appointment and acted as expert witness. He has held senior leadership roles in practice; most recently as Interpath’s Head of the London Restructuring Group. Prior to playing a key role in establishing Interpath, he was a Partner at KPMG LLP.
David’s diverse practice spans domestic and international situations, having worked across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Offshore jurisdictions. In the UK, he has been Administrator of intu properties plc, Toucan Energy, Calon Energy Group, HMV, Flybe, TXU, Technicolor Creative Studios, Monarch Aircraft and Elevate Credit. He has also worked alongside the Senior Official Receiver in multiple Special Manager appointments such as Thomas Cook. He has led work on Restructuring Plans, acting as an expert witness in McDermott and MGT Teeside and international assignments such as: Norwegian Airlines, Cimos Automotive, Refco and MPF Corp.
David’s typical clients include a full range of sponsors, funders, Boards, government agencies, regulators and co-advisors. His appointment will strengthen and broaden Grant Thornton’s ability to navigate clients through periods of acute financial challenge, complex multi-stakeholder restructurings and develop robust strategies to drive outcomes to face today's challenging market conditions and the opportunities which those present.
