Implementing finance integration following expanding geographical footprint
The challenge
Following a number of bolt-on acquisitions to a portfolio company within UK hospitality, a private equity (PE) house identified the need for support in managing a number of priorities requiring urgent attention. These included a range of legacy issues to work through, with external statutory reporting deadlines fast approaching – all against the backdrop of a finance team low on bandwidth and relevant expertise.
The solution
We mobilised a coordinated team of individuals on a placement basis to work alongside the existing finance function. The team was organised on a phased approach to ensure rapid deployment, seamless integration and minimal disruption. We matched the technical and soft skills required to execute a tactical integration project of this nature.
Injecting a proactive energy and taking a solutions-oriented approach was key to success, along with demonstrating empathy for an already pressured department undergoing change.
The results
Our team was able to successfully accelerate the remediation project timeline by six months and help the business get back to business as usual (BAU). Having embedded finance placements also allowed management to focus on meeting their additional reporting commitments to the PE house.
