Talent Solutions is part of Grant Thornton’s Consulting practice. We work with organisations to build critical skills through high‑quality training and development programmes, including apprenticeships and bespoke learning aligned to business priorities.

The Assistant Programme Manager will provide high‑impact operational support to the Talent Solutions team, ensuring effective delivery of its business skills training portfolio. Working closely with Business Development, Marketing and Operations’ teams, the role supports robust programme governance – covering planning, programme delivery, data/MI and tech-platforms, compliance and stakeholder support - to enable consistent high-quality delivery.

This position would suit an individual who brings strong organisational and coordination skills, takes pride in producing high‑quality work, and demonstrates a positive, proactive attitude to learning and stakeholder engagement.

A look into the role

The Assistant Programme Manager works within the Operations function. This role proactively works with our training partners and internal teams to coordinate operational design, implementation, monitoring and reporting on new and existing training programmes.

As an Assistant Programme Manager within the Talent Solutions team, you will:

  • Manage client engagements and programme manage delivery.
  • Lead on data management, monitoring service line performance and production of MI analysis
  • Lead on digital platform administration eg Learning Management System
  • Support risk management across the portfolio
  • Support contract management, compliance, governance and secretariat
  • Ensure compliance with all required service-related reporting and the Firm’s requirements

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as an Assistant Programme Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is experience in an operational role, working with senior stakeholders and managing multiple programmes. You will also need operational efficiency and have excellent relationship and communication skills. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder/client management skills
  • Programme management and operational skills
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Competency using data analysis and visualisation tools ie PowerBI or similar
  • Whilst not essential, an understanding of learning & development functions, business skills, or apprenticeships
